A message from Bishop Thomas Olmsted:
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
This past week on the Feast of the Exultation of the Holy Cross and 30th anniversary of St. John Paul II’s historical visit to the Arizona desert, I formally announced to the public a campaign to strengthen evangelization and discipleship efforts in the Diocese of Phoenix.
Over the next three years, each parish will be participating in the Together Let Us Go Forth ~ Juntos Sigamos Adelante campaign. I have chosen this name to reflect two important themes that guide evangelization and discipleship.
Together. We are all a part of the body of Christ. Great things happen when we unite in our common faith in Jesus. I am therefore inviting every baptized Catholic to participate – together we are strong.
Let Us Go Forth. As we prepare to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Diocese of Phoenix we are grateful for all those who have gone before us. It is now time for us to move forward. I invite each one of you to renew your commitment to living as a disciple of Jesus Christ.
This campaign will not be possible without our combined prayer, commitment and sacrifice. I ask every person to pray for me and the success of these evangelization and discipleship efforts. Join me in asking God to bless our work and to bring people to know the love and healing of Jesus Christ and His Church.
Together Let us Go Forth – Juntos Sigamos Adelante!
Sincerely yours in Christ,
+Thomas J. Olmsted
Bishop of Phoenix
